BAD LINE
The range has detected incorrect wiring at the power supply connection — typically a missing or reversed neutral leg on a 240V circuit. Operating the range with bad line wiring can damage the electronics and creates a shock hazard.
high severity
F0
The oven has detected a fault in the keypanel or touchpad — a button may be stuck in the pressed position, or the touchpad circuit has developed a short. The oven will not accept commands until the fault is resolved.
medium severity
F2
GE oven error F2 usually means the oven detected unsafe overheating and shut itself down to prevent damage or fire risk.
high severity
F3
GE oven error F3 usually means the oven temperature sensor is reading out of range.
medium severity
F5
The electronic range control (ERC) has detected an internal failure. The control board cannot operate reliably and must be replaced. Also indicated by F8 or FF on some GE models.
high severity
F9
The oven has detected a fault in the door lock circuit. This is most commonly triggered during or after a self-clean cycle when the door lock motor or switch has failed. Also displayed as FC on some GE models.
medium severity
F96
The oven's self-diagnostic system has detected a failure in an internal component — typically a relay, sensor circuit, or secondary board. The specific component depends on the model; F97 and F7X are variant codes indicating related internal faults.
high severity
F350
GE oven error F350 usually means the upper cooling fan is not moving air correctly.
medium severity
FD
The meat probe or probe receptacle (the socket inside the oven where the probe plugs in) is reporting an open or shorted circuit. The oven cannot read probe temperature and has disabled probe-controlled cooking.
medium severity
LOC
The control lock (child lockout) feature is engaged. All control panel buttons are disabled. This is not a fault — it is an intentional safety mode to prevent accidental oven activation.
low severity
